More food vendors and additional dining tent to be added on
East side of the Courthouse Square
(Monroe, WI) This year’s The Swiss Colony Cheese Days
Parade on Sunday, September 16 will be re-routed slightly,
but just in the downtown area. Instead of continuing on 10th
Street onto the downtown square, it will go south on 18th
Avenue for one block toward Monroe City Hall, and then west
on 11th Street past the post office – where it will
continue onto the south and west sides of the square only.
The parade will begin and end at the Green County Fairgrounds,
on the same streets as in the past.
Bleacher seats will again be sold in advance
for prime viewing areas – with reserved seating available
near Monroe Medical, the White Block Building, and a new area
by Goetz Theatre.
As in the past, the Children’s Parade
on Friday, September 14 will begin near the Monroe Middle
School and go toward Turner Hall. The route will then turn
left on 17th Avenue, turn right onto 11th Street by Goetz
Theatre, left on 18th Avenue for two blocks, left on 9th Street
toward Stop N Go, and then left on 16th Avenue where it will
go on the west side of the downtown square and return toward
the school.
The revised parade routes will allow the Green
County Cheese Days board to open up the east side of the square
for the entire weekend to bring in a variety of additional
new food vendors as well as an additional dining tent.
